MultimediaPhoto announced the release of Photomatix Pro 2.0, the latest version of its dynamic range increase software. Designed for professional photographers and advanced amateurs, Photomatix Pro combines any number of differently exposed images of a high contrast scene into one image with details in both highlights and shadows.
Version 2.0 adds the creation of a High Dynamic Range (HDR) image from bracketed shots, a tone mapping tool, an HDR viewer and an improved interface for exposure blending. With the new tone mapping tool, photographers can now obtain an image that preserves the local contrast and the highlights & shadows details of even the highest contrast scene. The tool produces results that exposure blending can not achieve when the dynamic range of the scene is particularly high.
Photomatix Pro is a stand-alone application that extends the dynamic range of photographs. The software enables users to blend exposures hassle-free and to retrieve local details from a High Dynamic Range image generated from multiple exposures. In addition to tone mapping, Photomatix Pro offers 6 methods of exposure blending, an alignment tool for out-of-register images, 16-bit support, and batch processing.
